The Biophysics Center

Because we've seen a lot of confusion over the terms "bioscan" and "biofeedback," we thought it useful to include an article on the difference between the two.

Biofeedback involves having body functions -- often brain waves and heart rate -- monitored in such a way that someone can observe the readings and use various techniques (like relaxation, breathing, etc.) to control the body functions. This is useful, for instance, for those with fast heartbeats who need to learn ways of calming them. By seeing the results of breathing, visualization, etc. on their body in a clinical setting, they're better able to control their bodies outside the clinical setting as well. You can see images to the right that represent this kind of therapy.

Bioscans, on the other hand, measure the quantum field of someone's body. There are different methods of doing this. We know one system that requires you to strap on an arm band, and it takes about 15 minutes to scan all of the factors it considers. Our NES Professional is a much quicker scan, and you only put your hand onto a device that looks like a large mouse.

There are also systems that involve probes, which the practitioner puts on various accupuncture points to assess. These systems are neither biofeedback or bioscan systems, but what we would call "meridian scans." We believe that the NES scan is the most valuable available because it DOES test the meridian system, but it also tests much more.
