Plenty of people take health supplements these days, and with good reason: between our packaged food habits and the fact that even fresh foods have fewer nutrients in them than they did 100 years ago, supplementing our nutrient intake is important to maximum maintenance of the physical body. But there are some important things to keep in mind when choosing supplements:

 

Optimizing nutritional supplement use involves 4 factors:

 

1) You need to remember that you are supplementing, not replacing. Eating a variety of healthy foods is an important first step. (And eliminating poor food choices reduces the need to overcome malfunctions in the body.)
